چکیده

Excited states in the well-deformed rare earth isotopes Sm and Er were populated via “safe” Coulomb excitation at the Munich MLL Tandem accelerator. Conversion electrons were registered in a cooled Si(Li) detector in conjunction with a magnetic transport and filter system, the Mini-Orange spectrometer. For the first excited 0 state in Sm at 1099 keV a large value of the monopole strength for the transition to the ground state of ρ(E0; 0+2 → 0g ) = 96(42) · 10 could be extracted. This confirms the interpretation of the lowest excited 0 state in Sm as the collective β-vibrational excitation of the ground state. In Er the measured large electric monopole strength of ρ(E0; 0+4 → 0g ) = 127(60) · 10 clearly identifies the 0+4 state at 1934 keV to be the β-vibrational excitation of the ground state.

Giant dipole resonance in deformed nuclei: dependence on Skyrme forces

P.-G. Reinhard Institut für Theoretische Physik II, Universität Erlangen, D-91058, Erlangen, Germany; [email protected] (Dated: October 11, 2006) Abstract The giant dipole resonance (GDR) in deformed nuclei is analyzed using the self-consistent separable random-phase-approximation (SRPA) with Skyrme forces SkT6, SkM, SLy6 and SkI3. The deformed nuclei Nd and U are used as r...

A New High-order Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Model Based on Deformed Linear Models

Amongst possible choices for identifying complicated processes for prediction, simulation, and approximation applications, high-order Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models are fitting tools. Although they can construct models with rather high complexity, they are not as interpretable as first-order TS fuzzy models. In this paper, we first propose to use Deformed Linear Models (DLMs) in consequence pa...

Origin of low-lying enhanced E1 strength in rare-Earth nuclei.

The experimental E1 strength distribution below 4 MeV in rare-earth nuclei suggests a local breaking of isospin symmetry. In addition to the octupole states, additional J^{π}=1^{-} states with enhanced E1 strength have been observed in rare-earth nuclei by means of (γ,γ') experiments. By reproducing the experimental results, the spdf interacting boson model calculations provide further evidence...

Description of deformed nuclei in the sdg boson model

We present a study of deformed nuclei in the framework of the sdg interacting boson model utilizing both numerical diagonalization and analytical 1=N expansion techniques. The focus is on description of high-spin states which have recently become computationally accessible through the use of computer algebra in the 1=N expansion formalism. A systematic study is made of high-spin states in rare-...
